Hey Man (Now you're really living)
I am so happy to think that life can really be this great all the time. If I can keep this up, I am going to be an unstoppable juggernaut, at anything I attempt.
For those of you unfamiliar with the reference in the title, please do yourself the wonderful service of picking up the new Eels album Blinking Lights[...].

I hate to be off-putting but...
Why must everyone constantly put on airs when even when engaging in mature dialogue? Have we as a culture become so hypersensitive as to not be able to handle anything anymore?
What a shame. If this is what is to become of us, then I weep for the future.

It's a Monster Trucker
It’s a monstertrucker
Being here without you
Thinking ’bout the good times
Thinkin ’bout the bad
And I won’t ever be the same
It’s a monstertrucker
Getting through a Sunday
Talking to the walls just me again
But I won’t ever be the same
I won’t ever be the same
It’s a monstertrucker
How much I understand
The meaning that you need someone
I could take you by the hand
And you won’t ever be the same
You won’t ever be the same

...Less Ordinary
Today really seems to being going well. I had enough time to finish up a major section of the "McCoy" project, along with a few other minor tasks. I just feel good today. No complaints here.

Good Morning World!
Apparently, a vacation (even a small one) is exactly what I needed to get in the right frame of mind. Weather held up all weekend, and I was able to get some great excercise.
First things first. I spent this weekend in Traverse City. Thursday evening I was invited to go stay with Brandy and her daughter Sophie at Brandy's friend Barb's place in TC. We left Saturday morning shortly before 10, and made it there by lunchtime. I had met Barb only once previously, but she didn't to seem having me stay at her place. And what a place it was. On top of a nice view, it was very spacious and the the layout was spectacular. I got to stay in her guest room, and Brandy and the munchkin stayed in the living room. I would have stayed on the couch in the living even if it had not been a pullout, but Brandy insisted that Sophie's sleep schedule warranted staying in the living room to be the least distracting to other sleepers. We went to lunch at "Screaming Rita's" with their friend Jeff, and some friends of his. We did a quick circuit of Traverse City, and then ran to the outlet mall to get some presents for a Bridal shower. I watched Sophie in BBB, and Brandy managed to get a great deal on some stuff. That night we watched movies (Sideways, Ocean's 12, and Shaun of the Dead), ate some Pizza Hut and then hit the hay before too late.
The next day we did the grand tour of all of Traverse City, with a Barb doing a great job of pointing out damn near everything. We grabbed some brunch in downtown TC, and then hit up the Great Lakes Children's Museum. Sophie really like the slide, but I was really stuck on the Water Display with working Locks (Very Sault Ste. Marie, but plastic :) ). We also went out to the Lighthouse through some twisty and turny roads on the peninsula. Next up we headed to Leland (where Barb is from) and I got a chance to meet her mom, and the house she grew up in. Dinner was awesome and then we headed down to the Marina and walked the docks, then took a quick walk around Leland. After a quick trip back to TC we headed back to Saint Johns at got around about 11.
I am so glad I didn't spend this weekend moping in my damn room.

h2g2 - April 29th, 2005
Well, I haven't posted about it, but I am following production and media review quite heavily for "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" motion picture.
I am a large fan of not only the novels, but both the BBC Radio and TV productions as well. I truly hope that this movie will live up to Mr. Adams' vision.
FYI, the soundtrack is now available on iTunes for $10.

Approaching 30k
It looks as though my car is going to roll over 30000 miles today on the way to lunch. I have had it for ~1.25 years.

Mitch Hedberg - March 30, 2005
I went to a restaurant and I ordered a chicken sandwich, but I don't think the waitress heard me 'cause she asked how I'd like my eggs. So I tried answering her anyways. INCUBATED! Then raised, then beheaded, then plucked, then cut up, then put onto a grill, then put onto a bun. Damn, it's gonna take a while. I don't have the time. Scrambled!
A great comedian has passed. Smart comedy and always funny. A damn shame.
